Animals available and show report

Hello dear readers and friends!grin

I am back from Chicago !!:)
The trip was NOT what I expected.... I am talking about the trip not the show. Becca, my daughter and I almost did not make to the show.  First our flight was cancelled and after waiting  for other flights that did not seemed that we would never make it, we finally arrived at the hotel around midnight last Thursday. After   nice warm shower and a very comfy bed everything seemed to be forgotten!:)

Becca and I were super excited about the show. Firstly this is the first time I had her along with me and she, along Gabby, is the one that enjoys miniatures the most. About 3 years ago , I gave her a large and old dollhouse that i found in an antique store . It is not a fancy dollhouse but a large one so Becca decided that instead of a house it would be an orphanage. You can imagine  were my "children" ends up when I don't sell it , right? *wink*

Anyways... we are back and  very happy with this show. I am already signed up for next year. *smiles*

Below you can see Becca in our very modest table. I had to give up my very large suitcase for a small one and sacrifice few items in order to only have hand baggages since we did not know what flight we were going to take and leaving behind was our lights and displays. It was alright, and all worked out somehow.

The picture above of me ( *blushing* )  was taken   Bridget McCarty  ... Bridge is not only an incredible artisan but such sweet girl.

I have worked close to 8 months for this show. I was able to have many animals as my desire is to be able to offer my loyal collector plus new ones an opportunity to choose from various of my work. I worked many , many months into long  days  and nights but  at the end were all very worth it to me.

I have a hand full of miniatures that I did not sale so if one of my work fancies you, make sure you check my etsy store. I plan to list every single animals there as I am now committed to start a whole new collection  for Philadelphia Show in November and of course , still work with my commissions.

I can't say I  won't list on ebay , but to be honest with you , I like to sell at a fixed price way better then auction  and I love esty. I feel that is a good place for me! :)

I will try to do updates posts with the listed animals as much as I can , but I have a LOT to  update my website with the sold items..... it will take  me some time.

Also.... I had a lot a problems with the blog lately.... my updates are not working properly and people can not find me. I don't know how to fix it and don't have the time to figure it  out :(. I hope all will work out it self somehow.
I will leave telling you that How thankful I am to my Heavenly Father for not only allowing me to create  from my heart but also for blessing me beyond my wild dreams with people that truly enjoy what I make.
Going to shows  is special to me because I get to meet these people and hear their stories when they hold  one of my animals and tell me what that means to them.

I had to hold my tears more than once during this show as twice I was asked to commission  pets that are no longer living . What it touched me the most was to hear the relationship these people ( or their loved ones) had with the animals and what meant to them. I feel that is a honor  for me to have  them to trust and choose my work to create a memory piece for them!

Have a blessed evening or day....where ever you are....

Leather lion & Unicorn Pegasus

   Hello there,*grin*

Firstly , I want to thank  each one of you that visited me on my last post and a special ((( thanks))) for all your comments...ahhh... they made my heart smile!! Thank you ever so much! I love my owl too and I am afraid she will be flying way soon too, grin , so before she does, I snapped few extra pictures this morning!

I am in a new "phase" of my work. I want to grow, create and innovate! Perfecting my art is a wonderful challenge and even more is to create new technique. To do that there is a LOT time involved because many , I mean, many times things does NOT turns up well  and others it is like a dream.*grin*

Last year I created a new way to do my birds. At the shows it was a confirmation that my birds were a success when the very first items I sold were them!grin

I want to create a different way to make some of my other animals. As much as i love work with wool, some times I am not very happy with the end results. The painter on me likes the colors to blend when lines meet, because in the reality , no animal has sharp lines , even a tiger  if one looks closely will see a soft blending.
Anyways... soft pastels or airbrushing  helps a lot  in those areas... many artists uses one of those and I do too.

Again, I wanted a change.... then I remember that in 2009, I made a horse for my bjds and I tried first  working with leather.
LOVED IT!

So this summer I have been preparing my leather in which is a pain in a neck but so well worth it.

This  lion was made from leather and wool for its mane. I am *very* pleased with the results. I study the lions for while and noticed the change of patterns in its skin and the leather allowed me to imitate  in miniature very well.
You can read up more about the lion if you like on his listing. I  will list him on my ebay soon. I was tempted to save him for my next show , but since he is my first one I want to give my ebay collectors a chance to purchase it first.

Also you can take a peek of some bigger project, a "Pegasus Unicorn". She is  not complete yet. I am working on her wings now in which will be pose able and removable for safe handling.
She will be available at  the upcoming Philadelphia Miniatura show.grin
