Orphans in Haiti~ Art auction

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."
-Matthew 25:35-36

Hello there~
For the past few weeks I have been , like many of you, sadden by what has happened in Haiti . Being a momma of 7 children my self, my heart is specially tender towards the children and the orphans.

As I drove last week to Miami to take my Daughter Kate to an auction at UM , I had an opportunity to learn more about the work that my mother in law's church is doing to help these people. I know there are several organization set up and please if you feel more comfortable- donate to them, I understand, but I am the kind of person that want to be involved with the small groups only because they serve in a different way.

So I did this illustration and it is called "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat". If you are inclined please click at the picture to view the auction.

This is an ORIGINAL painting done in watercolor and pencil. I used a hot pressed paper from Arches made in France.More details can be viewed at the auction. Thank you and God bless you!

Ma chère,
You talked about sketching being something that you wanted to work on, and here, your tenacity and drive to perfect your craft shows....this is truly masterful art work and I am so anxious to start doing some work. I have to look into the paper you mention...I wish you success on this venue of your heart's expression and that someone will buy in order to contribute to the case to which you have dedicated this marvelous piece. I hope you are well...Bisous my friend, Nita

Good luck with the auction patricia,
I think everyone wants to help in some way and feels terrible sadness for those in Haiti .
As mothers our hearts go out to those children .
I hope your beautiful painting will raise a good sum for the charity,

Dear Tita,

What a beautiful painting. It is all the more beautiful for putting your wonderful talent toward a practical expression of the love of God to those suffering in Haiti.

This is wonderful.
